Meeting Blake Lively :]

CELEBRITY SIGHTING.

We were cleaning up at work on Thursday night, and LeslieAnn told us that she thought she saw Blake Lively shopping in the store downstairs. Of course, our first reaction was to drop everything, scream, and run downstairs. haha.

Upon doing so, we definitely found Blake Lively buying candy! For those of you who don't know Blake Lively, she was in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and is now in Gossip Girl. We made her sign a mini bin and fill it with candy (we do to all the celebrities), and then forced her to take pictures with us. She was SOOOO nice! She kept telling us how nice it was to meet everyone, and her dad even took my card! He told me that he may be back one day to throw a party. I. WOULD. DIE.

There were also Oompa Loompas at work today. Is this not the most degrading job EVER?

Me, Mariah, Nowani, and LeslieAnn went out after work to El Cantinero. El Cantinero is a stuffy little Mexican restaurant downtown that is like a constant fiesta. We wanted to go to Harlem and get soul food, but Sylvia's was closed, and El Cantinero stays open late.

GOOD THING THEY DO, TOO! We stayed until 1 in the morning, and I'm sure our waiter hated us. Hahah....

No work today. I am going to buy things for my room. I need new picture frames....

Brooklyn Heights

Hey people!

Sorry I haven't updated in a few days. Work has been hectic- they did some "downsizing" yesterday, and it feels like I've lost members of my family. Isn't it amazing how close you grow to the people you work with? Downsizing is especially evil, because it happens for no particular reason. Jeeez! When is this economy gonna get going!?!

My friend Hussein bought a new apartment in Brooklyn, so I went to visit him yesterday and go shopping for new furniture. We discovered that Jennifer Convertibles is like a car dealership. If you act like you're going to leave, they will give you a better deal! Haha...

This weekend should be interesting... I have off work, and no money again! I sense a post with lots of great pictures! My dad sent me my rollerblades in the mail, and I got them today. I'm going to go exploring on rollerblades!! Should be fun!

This is the view from the end of Hussein's street, isn't it TO DIE FOR!?

Downtown & the Statue of Liberty

Today I decided to go see the Statue of Liberty- even though I feel like it's the most over-rated tourist attraction in New York. It's seriously not that big. I remember the first time that Kristen and I went to see it, we couldn't find it for a couple of minutes because we were expecting it to be some towering monument.

Anyway, I stopped for a quick second at the World Trade Center Site... they've put barricades all up over the sides of the streets and have employed traffic cops to stand at every 5 feet along the fence and have given them the overbearing power of having whistles. You think that when the government executes the largest planned demolition/murder in history, they would at least let us see where it happened. Why can't we see in there? I smell foul play...

I walked around downtown for a little bit before I hopped on the water taxi to IKEA Brooklyn! I absolutely love riding this thing! The store hasn't been opened for a month yet, and I bet I have been on this thing at least 10 times! It's the best free ride EVER!

After IKEA, I had a few friends over to celebrate the fact that we didn't have enough money to go anywhere else! Haha. We learned to never walk barefoot on the roof again, I have no clue what rooftops are made of, BUT IT IS VERY DIRTY!!

Me and my friend Emma, isn't she gorgeous?!
