White Houses

I spoke with a friend via facebook wall the other day (I've been waiting so long to legitimately use that sentence somewhere), and our conversation struck an interesting chord in me. We were talking about all of the fun things that we used to do in high school— the friends that we had, the endless nights we would spend complaining about boyfriends, late-night car rides we shared, concerts we went to, teachers we had— and we both agreed that we would do anything at this point in our lives to go back and live in the naïvety of our high school years if only for one more day. Funny, I can't remember liking anything about my high school years when I was there.

Isn't it ironic how we spend every moment of our lives trying to advance and get ahead to the next stage, yet once we get there, we consume ourselves with thoughts of the 'good ol' days' and how much we want everything to be as simple as it was back then?

Silly, isn't it?

When I first moved into the dorms on 55th Street, the only thing anyone ever wanted to do was go apartment hunting (or worse— jump out of a window!), but now that I have an apartment (that comes with an oh-shit price tag), I would love to spend just another semester back in the simplicity of the dorms.

I wish I had some great philosophical conclusion for you, but I'm still trying to sort it all out myself. Isn't it dangerous to linger in the past? And if so, how much are we aloud to leave behind once we get to the 'next stage?'

Cold as Sheet!

It is SO COLD outside today!!
42 degrees as of right now!

My friends from Chicago and Upstate New York said that it was snowing last night!

YIKES!

Winter is here! But the flowers are still in full bloom outside of the NYC Public Library on 42nd St. Aren't they beautiful?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTEN!

Hey all!

First and foremost... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE MOST FABULOUS SISTER IN THE WORLD!!

Disappointing news....

I was told this morning that I was going to meet none other than SOULJA BOY! For those of you that don't know Soulja Boy, view the following:

Isn't he great!? haha...
Anyways, we found out that he was coming to Dylan's to shoot an interview for MTV News, and I was really excited because I thought Suchin Pak would be the one to come and interview him. To make a long story short, it turns out that he missed his flight and wasn't able to make it to NYC.

Ok, things I don't understand:
1. You are a rap star
2. Your ONLY job is to wake up in the morning
3. HOW do you miss your flight if you own the plane?!?

Whatever.

After that, I organized all of my space at work and found out that tomorrow when I come in, I get to make phone calls to all the other snotty party spaces in town and find out competitor's pricing! So basically I picture myself spending most of the day on the phone with FAO Schwartz. FAO is a gigantic toy store where stuffed animals cost hundreds of dollars, and they have a giant piano that you can dance on! Here's an old photo of me and Kristen last year with the underpaid doormen:

I also found out that we're going to do a wedding CEREMONY in the store! Yes! Someone is crazy enough to get married in the world's largest candy store! Kudos to you! Their gift table will look something like this:

This has nothing to do with the wedding, but this is my amazing boss Fatima. We have too many inside jokes.

P.S.- Sorry I haven't been able to upload with pictures from the city for a while! Work is consuming! More city pics to come soon! I'm going on a train ride upstate this Friday, so hopefully we'll get some scenic pictures!

Take care =]
